About the brand
Our mission at pandoo is to reduce pollution and deforestation. Wherever possible, we try to avoid disposable products entirely. Unfortunately, there is not yet a sustainable alternative for all of these products. We are trying to develop more sustainable alternatives by making them from natural and fast-growing raw materials such as bamboo. Dentists recommend replacing the manual toothbrush every three months. When extrapolated to the whole of Germany, an estimated 3.5 billion plastic toothbrushes are sold per year.
Most of these toothbrushes are not recycled and thus pollute our environment. In a recent research, plastic waste was collected from an uninhabited island. Such remote places often serve as a “monitor” for marine litter. 373,000 toothbrushes were found in the estimated 238 tons of trash lying on the beach there.
