About the brand

Our mission at pandoo is to reduce pollution and deforestation. Wherever possible, we try to avoid disposable products entirely. Unfortunately, there is not yet a sustainable alternative for all of these products. We are trying to develop more sustainable alternatives by making them from natural and fast-growing raw materials such as bamboo. All of our products are manufactured in such a way that they can easily and conveniently find their place in your home. This small change is the only thing that will do our planet good. Because every plastic product, no matter how small, that you avoid in your everyday life makes a difference.

Cotton is not suitable for disposable products

According to WWF, the water consumption of one kilogram of conventional cotton is up to 10,000 liters. So for a single cotton pad there are 4 liters of water. And that's just for the production of the raw material, additional water and energy consumption arises in the production of the cotton pads themselves.

Looking at it from this perspective, it is a waste of valuable resources that millions of cotton pads are thrown away every day after a few seconds of use.

Organic cotton to protect our soils

Conventional cotton is grown with heavy use of pesticides and fertilizers. A study by the Environmental Institute in Munich showed that the use of pesticides per hectare in Germany has increased by 24.3% since 1994. Pesticides not only harm beneficial insects like bees, but also the fertility of the soil. With organic cotton, we avoid the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. This way you can be sure that your make-up removal pads have not destroyed any habitats of bees or butterflies!

Plastic-free packaging

Conventional cotton pads are packaged in plastic, contributing to the global waste problem. In fact, plastic packaging is among the top ten types of trash found in the ocean. With the pandoo reusable make-up removal pads, the packaging is now 100% biodegradable.

FAQ's

Can waterproof makeup/eye makeup be removed with the makeup removal pads?

This works without any problems. For gentle cleansing, we recommend using coconut oil for waterproof make-up: the oil dissolves the make-up and can be easily removed with the make-up removal pad.

When using very liquid care products, we generally recommend moistening the pads with lukewarm water so that the absorbent pads do not absorb too much of the lotion.

Are the make-up removal pads suitable for facial toner or are they too absorbent?

The make-up removal pads are rather absorbent, so we recommend moistening the make-up removal pad with water beforehand and then placing the facial toner over it as a film. Toners, i.e. more nourishing facial toners, are best applied directly to the face.

How do I get the make-up removal pads clean again?

The pads can be washed in the bag at 40°C on a delicates program or on a gentle cycle without any problems.

The make-up removal pads are not suitable for the dryer.

If the pads are very dirty (with very pigmented or carbon-containing cosmetic products), the make-up removal pads can be pre-washed. Simply wash the pad under the tap after cleansing your face. If it is very dirty, place the pad in lukewarm water with a little soap for a few minutes.

My pads are no longer as soft as they were at the beginning...

Due to the friction that occurs during use and frequent washing, the pads may lose some of their softness over time. This cannot be avoided with textile products. To avoid this for as long as possible, we recommend using some table vinegar or vinegar essence when washing (the laundry won't smell like vinegar afterwards, don't worry!).

Why is the sewing thread made of polyester?

We decided to use polyester thread so that the make-up removal pads are significantly more durable than with cotton thread. Our goal is for the reusable pads to accompany our everyday heroes for as long as possible.

The proportion of polyester is less than 1%.

Can you remove nail polish with make-up removal pads?

We have not tested or had the pads tested for nail polish (remover) because we do not want to actively advertise that. Most nail polishes contain plastic, which means that microplastics would end up directly in the wastewater during the wash cycle.
