Eleven brave portraits of unconditional love and cultural diversity. Mama Superstar takes us to war-torn South Korea, hot India, vibrant Mexico, and hopeful Iraq, among others. Above all, the book leads us to the places where the daughters of migrant moms grew up: the quiet Kelkheim, the tidy Stuttgart, and the multicultural Berlin. Inspiring, funny, and extremely honest.
We recommend this book for teenagers and adults.
The authors: Melisa Manrique and Manik Chander have something in common: both have moms who left their homeland to find a new home in another country. The young activists celebrate the migration stories of their own moms with their work and have thus created a unique monument for mothers and migrants.Your media extensively discussed project Migrant Mama (@mymigrantmama) has been awarded the German Integration Prize, among other accolades.
Non-fiction, Hardcover

About the publisher

The Mentor Verlag is an independent, owner-managed publishing house from Berlin – recently also part of the Friends Circle of the Kurt Wolff Foundation.
We, the two young publishers Philipp and Niclas, co-founded the start-up campus "Factory" eight years ago and love building communities. As a publishing house, everything revolves around community and great books – for children and adults. We are passionate about topics related to children's education, sustainability, healthy living, and also about social coexistence in general.
In the meantime, we have the privilege of collaborating with authors such as Francesca Cavallo, Ronja von Rönne, Jimmy Kimmel, and Lupita Nyong'o.
